This Japanese Breed of quail has been commercially bred for nearly 1000 years for their spectacularly fast growth rate, reaching maturity in just 10 weeks (weighing 10-16 ounces), their feed to production ratio, and overall health. Being one of the hardiest and easiest farm animals to care for on a homestead. The Jumbo size is the latest improved variation of this breed. In just the last 20 years this larger jumbo version than the standard size Coturnix ( which normally weighs 8-9 ounces by 10 weeks of age) has gained vast popularity and bred maticulously by large scale breeders to improve an already fantastic delicacy farm poultry.
